Wooden ceilings & architectural woodwork in Koh Samui

Timber ceilings, panelling, and architectural detail that turn a plain room into a finished one.

Architectural timber ceiling concept for a Koh Samui villa interior

A timber ceiling changes a room the way nothing else in the budget does: it adds warmth, hides services, softens acoustics, and gives a plain concrete shell the finished character villas here are known for. The same goes for wall panelling, battens, beams, and trim — architectural woodwork is what makes an interior read as designed rather than just built.

This is careful overhead work in finished spaces. We set out from the room's real lines (ceilings are rarely as level as they look), coordinate board positions with lighting and air-conditioning, and protect everything below while we work.

Working from architect's drawings? Send them with your enquiry — we regularly price and build from drawings, and we'll flag anything worth resolving before work starts.

Frequently asked questions

Will a timber ceiling make the room hotter?

Not noticeably — heat comes from the roof above, not the ceiling finish. What matters is the ventilation gap and any insulation above the boards; done right, a timber ceiling can sit under exactly the same ventilation as a plain one.

Can you install over an existing ceiling?

Often, yes — battens over a sound existing ceiling avoid demolition. It depends on what's up there and what it can carry, so we confirm on site before quoting the approach.

How messy is the installation?

There's dust in any overhead work, and we control it: rooms sheeted, floors and furniture protected, and a clean-up before we leave each day.

Do you work with architects and builders on new builds?

Yes. Send the drawings and the stage the build is at — we'll price from the drawings and coordinate timing with the site.

Can spotlights go into a timber ceiling?

Yes, with planning. Positions and wiring are set before the boards go up, and fittings need the right heat clearance. We coordinate positions with your electrician.
