Teak-Clad Columns

Structural columns wrapped in solid teak — for salas, terraces and pool pavilions.

Teak-clad columns holding a white sala roof over a pool under construction

Cladding a concrete column in timber turns structure into architecture. These wraps are mitred and fitted on site, matched to the soffits and ceilings around them.

Every column in this set was photographed during construction, which is the honest moment for the work: the teak wraps go on while the site is still open, so the mitres and plank lines can be checked against the sala roof and terrace ceilings they have to meet. The settings run from a pool pavilion and a covered terrace to a single plank-clad column standing against the hills.
