Who we are

Chaingkiat & Furniture is a furniture and carpentry company based on Koh Samui. We assemble and install furniture and kitchens, and we design and build custom woodwork — wardrobes, cabinets, ceilings, and one-off pieces — for homes, villas, and commercial spaces on the island.

The workshop behind the work

We have been building and fitting furniture for nearly thirty years. That time shows up in the quiet parts of a job: how a carcass is squared, how a door is hung, how a site is left at the end of the day.

The work is made in our own workshop in Chaweng, here on Koh Samui — built to order, to your drawings or to ours.

Day to day the crew is 20 carpenters and 8 painters, and it grows when a project needs more hands. We come to you to measure and look at the space, and you get a clear quote before any work starts.

What we value

  1. Measure twice

Every job starts with real measurements on site — not assumptions.

  2. Turn up when we say we will

Punctuality is part of the work. If timing changes, you hear it from us first.

  3. Leave the site clean

Floors protected while we work, packaging taken away, the room swept before we go.

  4. Honest about what a job needs

We'll tell you what a job needs — and what it doesn't. If it's better suited to another trade, we'll say so.

How we run a job

  1. Tell us the job

Start with whatever you have: a photo, a sketch, a link to furniture you've bought, or just the room and an idea. We'll ask the questions that matter.

  2. Measure and plan

For custom work we visit, measure, and talk through materials, finishes, and how the piece will be used — then agree the design with you before anything is cut.

  3. Clear quote first

You get a written quote covering scope and price. You approve it before work starts — no surprise line items.

  4. Build, fit, and hand over

We build, dry-fit, finish, and install. We protect floors and finished surfaces, keep you updated, walk you through the finished work, and leave the site clean.

Ask us about how we handle guarantees and after-installation care when you request your quote — we'll put it in writing with your estimate.

How should we reply?

Area or village — it helps us plan the site visit.

Sizes, rough measurements, links to furniture you've bought — and mention if you have photos; we'll ask for them by chat or email.
