Custom furniture & carpentry in Koh Samui

Furniture made to measure. If it's wood and built for your space, we design it and we build it.

Custom furniture and carpentry design concept for a Koh Samui villa

Off-the-shelf furniture is built for average rooms, and villas on Koh Samui are rarely average. Ceilings run double height, alcoves sit out of square, living areas open to the weather, and a standard cabinet ends up fighting the view. Custom work starts from the room, not the catalogue. We measure, draw, and agree everything with you before a single board is cut.

Every piece follows the same path. We measure and template on site, then talk through materials and finishes for the way the piece will live. The build happens in the workshop, with a dry fit before finishing and installation. You see and approve the design and the quote before fabrication starts.

The island's climate is part of the brief. Heat, humidity and salt air all move and punish wood, so what a piece is made of matters as much as how it looks. So does sealing every face and edge. We'll talk you through the trade-offs honestly; solid wood, plywood and sheet materials each suit certain jobs, and we'll tell you which is right for yours.

Renovation projects have a place here too, with an honest line around the scope. We are the furniture and carpentry trade inside a renovation, working alongside the builder, architect or designer who runs it; we don't manage the building work ourselves.

Within that line the work is familiar ground. Built-ins get replaced after a layout change, rooms are refitted around new openings, existing woodwork is repaired or modified to match what is being added, and new pieces are built straight from the project's drawings. Because renovation schedules move, we agree the joinery slot with whoever runs the programme, and anything wired or plumbed has its position agreed with the relevant trades before fabrication.

If a job is better suited to another trade, we'll say so. We quote before we start, with no surprise line items.

Frequently asked questions

How does the design process work?

Start from whatever you have, even if that's just the room. A photo, a sketch or a saved image is plenty. We measure, talk through materials and finish, and confirm the design and quote with you before building.

Can you build from my architect's drawings?

Yes. Send the drawings with your enquiry and we'll quote from them, and flag anything that needs deciding before fabrication.

Can you match existing furniture or woodwork?

We can usually get very close on profile, stain, and finish. Matching aged or weathered wood exactly takes judgement, so we'll be honest about how close we can get before you commit.

What woods work best in Samui's climate?

Humidity and salt air are hard on wood. Dense hardwoods and well-sealed builds cope best. The detail that matters most is sealing the back and the cut edges as carefully as the show face, and allowing for movement. We'll talk through the options for your specific project when we quote.

Do you take small one-off pieces, or only big projects?

Both. Describe the job, whether it's a single shelf, one door or a full villa fit-out, and we'll quote it.

Is the consultation free?

Consultation on interior work is free. We talk the job through, visit and measure where it needs it, and you approve an itemized quote before anything is built.

How should we reply?

Area or village — it helps us plan the site visit.

Sizes, rough measurements, links to furniture you've bought — and mention if you have photos; we'll ask for them by chat or email.
